The Thatcher Ferry bridge was inaugurated in 1962, located near to Panama city, it’s the only bridge that connects North , center and south America in a road , and it’s the plug connection between the Caribbean sea and Pacific Sea . It was designed by the U.S Army with the government investment. They did an expensive work (coast 20 million dollars) but it was worth it in every sense the bridge received its name in honor to Maurice Hudson Thatcher; he was a U.S Congressman and governor of the Panama Canal Zone until 1913. Officially, the bridge was renamed Puente de las Americas (The Bridge of the Americas) since 1979 and this is how most of people around the world know it.
